Job Summary:The RN Resident will work in our 4D Medical-Surgical & Telemetry Unit, a 44-bed nursing unit that provides cardiac, respiratory, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, neurological, infectious disease, substance abuse, behavioral health, pre-operative and post-operative care. You will be part of a team that is dedicated to exceeding patients' expectations and providing high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:- Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
- Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
- Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
- Respond to data indicating risk to patients' health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
- Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
- Document in patients' medical records.
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience.
- Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).
The RN Resident will require full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. The position requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. The RN Resident will also require corrected vision and hearing to normal range. The position requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids is also a requirement.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Personal Protective Equipment:The RN Resident will follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
