Job Summary:

The Custodian II performs moderately complex custodial work, including cleaning, dusting, disinfecting, and sanitizing to maintain a safe and healthy environment. This role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve common goals, as well as the ability to lift 50 pounds and stand/walk on hard floors for extended periods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cleans, dusts, disinfects, and sanitizes to maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • Operates floor maintenance equipment, such as strippers, buffers, vacuums, and extractors
  • Requests and restocks supplies as necessary
  • Assists in conducting inspections of buildings and equipment for cleanliness and needed repairs
  • Assists in performing minor building and equipment repairs and installations
  • Maintains assigned custodial equipment in good working order
  • Maintains outside areas around the hospital, clears trash and debris
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent
  • Six (6) months experience in a custodial/housekeeping position
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand/walk on hard floors for extended periods
  • Ability to work harmoniously and productively with co-workers and patients
