Under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Student Programming and Services, the Intervention Specialist will provide daily instruction to assigned students, prepare daily instructional lesson plans, and supervise and discipline students. The ideal candidate will have a valid Ohio Certification/Licensure, a valid Driver's License, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare daily lesson plans incorporating ODE content standards, textbook materials, and supplemental instructional materials
- Supervise students and maintain a positive classroom environment
- Evaluate students through teacher-made tests, curriculum/standardized tests, and observations
- Communicate with parents and document all contact in the school phone log
- Requisition supplies, curriculum/textbooks, and equipment through the building principal or program supervisor
- Valid Ohio Certification/Licensure
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to lift 40 pounds unassisted
- Ability to maneuver stairs unassisted
- Pass criminal background check
The Intervention Specialist may be exposed to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue. They may also operate a vehicle under inclement weather conditions and interact with unruly children.
