Job Summary

The Colorado School of Mines is seeking a highly skilled Associate Controller for Financial and Tax Reporting to join our team. This role will be responsible for leading the university's financial and tax reporting unit, ensuring timely and accurate financial information for internal and external users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the full annual financial statement package, including the Management Discussion and Analysis, financial statements, footnotes, and required supplementary information.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements with variance analysis for executive leadership and the Board of Trustees.
  • Serve on the university-wide data governance committee for financial information.
  • Prepare and advise on standardized and ad hoc financial reports for campus users.
  • Manage the University's Tax Filings, ensuring timely and accurate filing for tax documents and payments.

  • Exceptional analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, research, and resolve issues.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with financial reporting, compliance, and tax regulations.
