About the Role

Gersh Autism is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Teacher/Coach to join our team. As a key member of our Special Education Department, you will play a critical role in supporting and coaching teachers in their classrooms, during planning periods, and in IEP meetings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Coaching
    • Provide ongoing leadership and coaching to members of the Special Education Department in terms of contextual and instructional pedagogy.
    • Observe team members on a regular basis to ensure that the goals of the department and the demands of the curriculum are being met.
  • Curriculum Development and Implementation
    • Review, design, and help teachers implement each department's courses of study and curriculum maps.
    • Prepare each department's curriculum and supply orders.
  • IEP Support and Management
    • Support teachers with writing, implementing, and evaluating IEP goals.
    • Assist with annual OSPI approval.
  • Department Management
    • Help manage department budgets by reviewing all order requests.
    • Work closely with the School Leadership Team on all departmental curricular and staff matters.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification
    • Bachelor's Degree in Education (Master's preferred)
    • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education (Master's preferred)
    • Special Education certification (required)
  • Experience and Skills
    • Experience working with students with ADHD, LD, HFA, and other related disabilities (preferred)
    • Experience using Applied Behavioral Analysis (preferred)
    • Experience in assessment and report writing (preferred)
Working Conditions
  • Location: Issaquah, WA
  • Monday - Friday / 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Occasional before and after school work hours at the discretion of the Administrative staff
  • Candidates should be comfortable teaching online and in the school building
  • There is an Extended Year Program, so this position is 12 months
