Hazard Mitigation Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Hazard Mitigation Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying any barriers to successful program execution and addressing them in collaboration with the Tribal Administrator and Tribal leadership as appropriate.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Identify any barriers to successful program execution and address them in collaboration with the Tribal Administrator and Tribal leadership as appropriate
  • Work with coordinators, Tribal Administrator, and Tribal leadership to identify, secure, and onboard additional resources and expertise for the program
  • Lead procurement and manage contracts and agreements with partners and consultants to ensure all requirements are fulfilled
  • Create detailed project plans and develop methods for tracking against project milestones

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in business management, administration, engineering, or relevant equivalent field with five years of relevant experience
  • Experience preparing, following, and reporting on budgets
  • Experience leading a team
  • Ability to meet deadlines while multitasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in a variety of computer applications including MS Office and MS Excel and team coordination software

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $75,000 - $95,000 per year, depending on experience. The position is based in Houma, Louisiana and requires travel.
