Floor and Custodial Services Technician

Covenant Living is seeking a skilled Floor and Custodial Technician to provide exceptional campus services, including floor technician services, general custodial cleaning, and minor maintenance requests. This role is crucial in ensuring the facilities are well-maintained and meet the needs of residents and employees.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general building and facility custodial and cleaning functions, adhering to established schedules and department standards.
- Assist in emergency clean-ups and perform project cleaning as assigned, including walls, ceilings, vents, light fixtures, windows, and deep cleaning of rooms/units.
- Maintain all floors, including sweeping, dry and wet mopping, stripping, scrubbing, waxing, vacuuming, extraction, hosting, and buffing, as scheduled or assigned.
- Utilize specialized equipment to ensure floors are maintained in excellent and safe condition.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks, including moving furniture, removing trash and recyclables, maintaining cleaning equipment, and reporting the need for repairs.
- Participate in the campus linen program, including distributing, collecting, counting, and preparing for pick-up, as well as handling incoming linen.
- Assist with making beds in guest rooms or residences as needed.
- Participate in receiving campus supplies, deliveries, and putting away as needed, ensuring all areas requiring supplies are fully stocked on a daily basis.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Housekeeping and/or general maintenance experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbal and written, with residents and staff.
- Dependability, common sense, and the ability to organize daily cleaning schedules to finish each day's assignment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work within standard policy and procedures, with limited direct supervision.
- An interest in and desire to work with older adults is desired.
- This position requires constant mobility, including bending, stooping, climbing, and reaching.
- This position requires the routine use of ladders and floor equipment.
- This position requires the ability to lift, push, move, and operate specialized equipment, supplies, etc., not normally exceeding 100 lbs.
- This position will experience exposure to weather, temperature changes, fumes, etc., and some risk of exposure to hazardous materials and cleaning chemicals.
