Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher to join our team at Braintree Educational Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality educational support to students who require support from a teacher for the deaf and hard of hearing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess students' skills and learning requirements through standardized testing and develop individualized educational plans (IEPs) based on accurate data and in accordance with federal special education laws.
  • Collaborate with parents and school staff to track students' progress and communicate regularly with the Braintree Academy Administration.
  • Design and implement instructional plans that meet the unique needs of each student, including adapting learning materials and assessing students' abilities.
  • Provide direct services to students as per IEP requirements and support families with suggestions and ideas to enhance learning as needed.
  • Meet with students virtually to work on and meet their IEP goals and schedule, send invitations to all those who need to attend and participate in any necessary special ed student meetings within the timelines given.
Requirements
  • Current IDOE license as a DHH teacher.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-organized with excellent leadership abilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using Indiana's IEP system (IIEP).
Working Conditions
  • Access to reliable internet.
  • A computer with camera and speaker access.
  • Working environment free of distractions.
  • Daytime availability preferred.

Compensation: $50.00 - $80.00 per hour based on experience. Additional information: If qualified applicant has a private business they would prefer to work under, an independent contractor contract could be drafted and compensation discussed.
