Job Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes advanced imaging equipment to generate diagnostic radiographs suitable for interpretation by a physician.
  • Maintains a high level of proficiency in clinical practices and equipment operation across various clinical environments.
  • Demonstrates expertise in operating cardiac catheterization lab equipment, including x-ray units, monitors, and hemodynamic systems.
  • Effectively manages angiography equipment with comprehensive knowledge and skill.
  • Coordinates and prioritizes tasks in high-pressure or critical patient scenarios.
  • Ensures efficient use of supplies and equipment while maintaining sterility during procedures.
  • Assists in evaluating patient conditions throughout the course of procedures.
  • Employs technical and clinical expertise to support the physician during procedures, ensuring patient safety.
  • Monitors all procedural functions to help prevent adverse outcomes.
  • Adapts examinations based on patient status to achieve optimal results.
  • Provides the physician with accurate clinical diagnoses and thorough patient history documentation.
  • Collaborates with the physician to ensure optimal examinations for precise diagnosis.
  • Coordinates scheduling to maximize equipment use and enhance patient flow.
  • Maintains sufficient supplies and workspace for effective daily operations.
  • Ensures quality control for all equipment in line with manufacturer and regulatory standards.
  • Capable of initiating IVs as necessary for contrast administration, with appropriate documentation.
  • Demonstrates understanding of growth and development principles across the lifespan, with the ability to assess data reflecting patient status, including age-specific needs.
  • Incorporates the values of genuine respect, passionate caring, and a joyful spirit into all job responsibilities and daily interactions with customers and colleagues.
  • Adheres to safety standards established by Northwestern Medicine, completing mandatory organizational safety training annually.
  • Maintains confidentiality for patients and their families in accordance with the NM Patient Confidentiality Policy, extending the same respect to all associates.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • American Registered Radiologic Technology (ARRT) certification.
  • Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety Certification (IDNS).
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Physical capability to fulfill the functional requirements of the position.

Preferred:

  • Interventional Cardiovascular Registered (CVT) certification.
  • Experience with Intra-aortic Balloon Insertion and Operation.
  • ACLS certification.
  • One or more years of experience in hospital Medical Imaging.
