Transform Lives as a Fertility Nurse Specialist

As a Fertility Nurse Specialist, you'll play a vital role in our team, working closely with physicians and other medical providers to deliver expert care and service for fertility treatments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Counsel patients through fertility treatment after consultation with the physician and fertility team
- Assist fertility team in ensuring that all appropriate consents are sent to patients and are returned in a timely manner
- Coordinate and develop care for assigned physicians' In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF), Embryo Transfer (ET/FET), Egg Vitrification, and Mock Cycle patients
- Coordinate patients' timelines, calendars, and protocols
- Provide knowledgeable answers to patients' questions regarding their cycles and calendars
- Provide fertility education, including medication teaching, resources, and diagnostic testing
- Offer emotional and compassionate support to patients throughout their fertility journey
- Ensure that all required labs and diagnostic testing are completed within designated time frames, in accordance with FDA/CDC guidelines
- Review schedules daily, after physicians have reviewed and provided orders, regarding ultrasound and lab tests. Contact patients with appropriate instructions, per physician direction
- Perform routine patient assessments as necessary (i.e., height, weight, vital signs)
- Document patient information accurately and thoroughly in each patient's chart
- Review patient charts to identify potential medical problems that require evaluation prior to proceeding with fertility treatment
- Perform phlebotomy, cultures, and intrauterine inseminations
- Triage phone calls and portal messages received from the IVF/FET nurse line and/or portal, providing instructions per patient treatment plans
- Develop OR schedules in coordination with the OR and embryology departments on designated monitoring days and as needed. Call patients with pre-op instructions
- Follow up post-treatment/post-procedure to assess for any additional needs or emergent signs/symptoms for immediate evaluation
- Monitor established pregnancies with physician direction during the first 10-12 weeks of gestation
- Ensure that all required documentation is completed for SART data reporting
- Support the Clinical Nurse Manager in overseeing daily clinical operations
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures, rules, and regulations, and calling for assistance from other healthcare support personnel when necessary
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to HIPAA, infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations
- Operate specialty equipment per manufacturer's recommendations and/or policy and procedure
Requirements:
- Active RN license
- 1+ years of clinical RN experience
- Women's health, OB/GYN, or fertility experience strongly preferred
- Strong technical and clinical assessment skills
- Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment
- Ability to communicate accurately and concisely
