Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CHW Lab & X-Ray Manager to oversee lab staff performance, manage lab and x-ray operations, and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee lab staff's performance, train, and assure specimens are properly collected and processed for testing.
  • Review lab reports for accuracy and completeness, track critical lab results, and ensure timely receipt of all results.
  • Maintain all equipment/instruments to ensure they are functioning according to standards, troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed.
  • Assure laboratory meets guidelines for CLIA, JACHO, and DSHS inspections, request clinical lab and x-ray supplies and equipment.
  • Oversee the Radiation Safety Officer, perform audits, and ensure timely completion of duties for Dental and Medical.
  • Perform and supervise diagnostic procedures in x-ray examinations, review x-ray procedures for accuracy and recommend changes.
  • Monitor all radioactive badges to ensure exposure is within federal and state guidelines, assist in maintaining all equipment/instruments.
  • Develop x-ray and lab procedures, keep all protocols updated with Medical Director and/or Supervisor.
  • Assure x-ray documentation and equipment meet guidelines for CLIA, JACHO, and DSHS inspections, attend internal District meetings.
  • Reconcile services performed with vendor bills or statements, understand and follow GCHD/CHW Infection Control policies.
  • Participate and contribute to Quality Assurance, compliant, and TJC Committee, responsible for ensuring all bio-hazardous waste is disposed of properly.
  • Adhere to job specific competencies within established departmental deadlines, timely completion of subpoena requests for results and tests.
  • Maintain audits for lab and x-rays to confirm proper/timely reporting of results, verify order statuses by self-audits.
Requirements
  • Certified as a Medical Radiologic Technician by the State of Texas -OR- 3+ years of management/supervisory experience in a lab setting.
  • 1 year of management/supervisory experience in a lab setting required.
  • Prefer certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist or eligible for certification through ASCP, with at least two years of lab tech experience.
  • Prefer 2+ years of experience providing x-rays or lab services in a primary care clinic or FQHC.
  • Prefer 2+ years of experience using an Electronic Medical Record system.
  • Current CPR preferred (must successfully complete CPR certification within 6 months of employment).
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Ability for spur of the moment transportation without relying on organization vehicles.
  • Must possess or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Texas for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
  • Department of Motor Vehicle check may be required, if applicable.
  • Customer Service Oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent Computer Skills MS Office.
  • Must be willing and able to work evening and weekend hours if necessary.
  • Must be in compliance with GCHD Immunizations policy.
  • Must be in compliance with ICS training requirements.
  • Must pass criminal background check and drug/alcohol screening.
