EMS Continuing Education Program Manager

Vista Medical Center, a leading healthcare provider, is seeking a highly skilled EMS Continuing Education Coordinator to develop and implement comprehensive continuing education programs for EMS personnel. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency medical services, education, and training, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development & Implementation
- Design and implement EMS continuing education courses, workshops, and training sessions to meet certification and licensure requirements.
- Ensure all programs are in compliance with state, local, and national EMS regulations.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in emergency medical services and integrate them into training materials.
- Curriculum Management
- Develop course content, objectives, and lesson plans tailored to EMS personnel's needs and industry standards.
- Review and update existing curriculum to reflect current standards of practice and protocols.
- Coordinate with subject matter experts to develop specialized training modules as needed.
- Coordination & Administration
- Schedule and organize classes, seminars, and events.
- Maintain detailed records of all training activities, course completions, and participant feedback.
- Manage budget and resources for the continuing education program.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Monitor and evaluate training programs for effectiveness and alignment with quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure accurate documentation and reporting for accrediting bodies and regulatory agencies.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain the highest standards of EMS education and training.
- Collaboration & Community Engagement
- Act as a liaison between the EMS department and other hospital departments, external training providers, and local community organizations.
- Represent Vista Medical Center at community events, conferences, and EMS educational forums.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to enhance the visibility and reputation of the EMS training program.
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Medical Services, Education, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a paramedic or in a similar role within EMS.
- At least 2 years of experience in an educational or training role, preferably in EMS continuing education.
- Certifications
- Current EMT-Paramedic or RN licensure.
- Certified EMS Instructor or equivalent training certification (e.g., NAEMSE Instructor Course) preferred.
- Skills & Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of EMS protocols, clinical guidelines, and educational standards.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in educational technology platforms and learning management systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods during training sessions.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
