About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team as a Patient Care Specialist. In this vital role, you will play a crucial part in delivering exceptional patient care under the direction of our Registered Nurses (RNs) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs).

Job Summary:

The Patient Care Specialist provides direct and indirect patient care, focusing on promoting patient comfort, dignity, and well-being. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering direct and indirect patient care in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of care.
  • Performing and/or assisting with patient care needs as directed, including activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
  • Responding promptly to call lights, inquiries, and requests from patients and families.
  • Collecting, documenting, and reporting ongoing patient care data as directed.
  • Measuring and/or documenting intake and output, including drainage and obtaining daily weights when indicated.
  • Obtaining individual patient care equipment as directed.
  • Transporting patients as directed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent level of education.
  • Completion of a Nurse Aide program or comparable training (e.g., EMT, Medical Assistant, nursing student with clinical experience, or IH Technical Partner Training Program).
  • Sound judgment, problem-solving skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to follow directions from other team members.
