Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join our team at JobsQuest. As an Automotive Technician, you will be responsible for performing journeyman-level tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of automobiles and light trucks, as well as other standard and specialized gasoline and diesel-powered equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect equipment to determine the need for maintenance and/or repair work
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on hydraulic systems, including braking systems, lifts, backhoes, and loaders
  • Read reference materials to guide maintenance and repairs
  • Fabricate parts for equipment and/or rolling stock
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and tune-ups on rolling stock
  • Perform repairs on cars and light trucks, heavy trucks, and/or heavy equipment
  • Maintain building, grounds, and equipment
  • Repair or replace tires on equipment/rolling stock
  • Go to worksites to retrieve equipment or make repairs
Requirements
  • Driver's license
  • Completed coursework/certification program or gained work experience in diagnosing problems with gasoline or diesel engines, diagnosing brake systems, and diagnosing front and/or rear suspension problems

Work Environment

Work is performed primarily in employer-owned facilities such as workshops and involves the use of electrical, gas, or air-powered tools and equipment. Work may be conducted in cramped work spaces requiring extended periods in contorted body positions and exposure to contaminants such as dust, gasoline, and/or caustic chemicals, and to potential mechanical and moving vehicle hazards.

Physical Demands

Job involves significant and concerted physical exertion required for regular prolonged periods of carrying, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, or walking. Involves lifting of items or objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
