Pharmacy Technician

Job Description:

In accordance with state and federal regulations, the Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy, under direct supervision. This role involves performing various tasks to support the Pharmacy Department, including using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, processing prescriptions, and assisting with inventory management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining work flow
• Process prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs
• Verify medicine is correct and check for possible interactions
• Assist with exterior and interior maintenance of the Pharmacy Department
• Comply with all company policies and procedures

Customer Experience:

The Pharmacy Technician plays a key role in delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience. This includes engaging customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving customer issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive customer experience.

Requirements:

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours
• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prefer good math skills for filling prescriptions accurately
• Prefer good computer skills
• Prefer PTCB or ExCPT certification

Training & Personal Development:

The Pharmacy Technician is expected to maintain knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including the latest news and developments. This includes attending training and completing PPLs requested by Manager and acquiring continuing education credits.
