Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Prepare and record journal entries in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Conduct reconciliations of ledger accounts to verify accuracy.
- Ensure the integrity of monthly and annual financial statements in line with GAAP.
- Analyze financial data trends and investigate variances.
- Support annual audit processes.
- Assist with accounting and integration following acquisitions.
- Engage in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in general ledger accounting.
- Familiarity with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
- Experience with Workday is a plus, though not mandatory.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions like vlookups and pivot tables.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
- Discretion in handling complex and confidential information.
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
- A blend of public and private sector accounting experience is preferred.
- 4-6 years of relevant experience in the accounting domain.
- CPA certification is advantageous but not essential.
- Must have authorization to work in the US without employer sponsorship.
