Diesel Fleet Mechanic Technician III

Sysco Baltimore is seeking a skilled Diesel Fleet Mechanic Technician III to join our team. As a key member of our fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on our vehicles and equipment.
Responsibilities- Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment within planned time tolerances to maximize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Perform FAI/CVI inspections on all fleet vehicles, including tractors, trailers, and converter dollies, in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Diagnose and repair complex issues with refrigeration units, electrical systems, and other vehicle components.
- Mentor and train junior technicians to develop their skills and knowledge.
- Work independently and as part of a team to achieve maintenance goals and objectives.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; 2-year degree or certification in a related field preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair, with a focus on heavy duty trucks and equipment.
- ASE certifications in Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks and other relevant areas.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
The Diesel Fleet Mechanic Technician III will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent exposure to changing weather conditions, mechanical noise, and physical demands. The position requires the ability to lift up to 100 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in confined spaces.
