GENERAL OVERVIEW:


Under the guidance and oversight of the Registered Nurse and the Surgical Team, the individual is responsible for the management of surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment essential during various surgical procedures ranging from general to moderately complex.

The role requires a comprehensive understanding of the surgical procedures being executed and the ability to anticipate the requirements of the assigned surgeon and surgical team members.

Additionally, the position involves providing support related to patient preparation, transportation, and assisting the surgical care team with specific patient care responsibilities to ensure safety and comfort.

The individual must respond to urgent situations in accordance with established protocols.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is mandatory.

Completion of a Surgical Technology program is essential.

In-depth knowledge of surgical procedures within the operating room (OR) is required, along with expertise in surgical practices and techniques to deliver patient care and assist surgeons in the O.R.


CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Current BLS certification is required or must obtain BLS certification within one month of employment.


Surgical Technologist certification is necessary, or 3-5 years of experience in supporting complex high-acuity surgical volumes may be accepted in lieu of certification.

A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cardio Vascular Surgical Technologist is preferred. Willingness to train the right candidate is available.
