Job Responsibilities

As a Respiratory Care Specialist, you will assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collecting and analyzing sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases.
  • Measuring the lung capacity of patients to determine if there are any impairments.
  • Rellying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performing a variety of tasks that require a certain degree of creativity and latitude.
  • Typically reporting to a manager.
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of respiratory care.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • An associate's degree and a credential of Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
  • Maintenance of a CPR certification.
