Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Bartender to join our team at Courtyard by Marriott - Mason, OH. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promptly and professionally serve guests beverages and food orders, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Attend mandatory meetings as scheduled by the Restaurant Manager.
  • Verify age requirements for the purchase of alcohol and dispense it according to State regulations.
  • Take steps to eliminate problems and liability related to guests' excessive drinking, such as limiting alcohol served and/or stopping service.
  • Provide means of ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated guests.
  • Keep the bar, tables, and eating areas clean and set to hotel and restaurant standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked work area.
  • Greet and acknowledge guests immediately with a standard greeting.
  • Be knowledgeable about food and beverage offerings.
  • Rotate all stock and put it away at the end of the shift.
  • Communicate with the kitchen when items are low and need to be ordered.
  • Submit correct ticket orders to the kitchen if food orders are present in the bar area through the Point of Sale system.
  • Perform and complete all daily opening and closing checklists.
  • Communicate with management regarding customer satisfaction, feedback, and beverage counts.
  • Ensure all products are stored and secured properly at all times.
  • Keep menus and table tents clean, organized, updated, and presentable.
  • Ensure all billing is calculated correctly upon presenting the guest check.
Requirements
  • Regular attendance is essential to the successful performance of this position.
  • Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
  • Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules and holidays to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
  • Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with all rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities.
  • Employees who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements

Frequent lifting with a considerable amount of bending and stooping is required. Physical activities include walking, talking, seeing, hearing, bending, stooping, touching, pushing, pulling, lifting, standing, and holding. Considerable hand and finger dexterity is needed to lift and grasp objects such as silverware, china, miscellaneous supplies, utensils, etc. May require continued repetitive bending and stooping. Working with warming ovens and kitchen utensils is also required. Requires high levels of contact with all types of people, interacting with people to a high degree relates to the attending of needs or requests of people or the expressed or implied wishes of people. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is necessary.
