Position Overview

Role Summary: The Youth Engagement Program Facilitator will oversee daily initiatives and motivate adolescents in educationally focused after-school and summer programs. These programs encompass a variety of activities, including academic support, fitness, reading, and enrichment opportunities. The role primarily involves in-person interactions, with some virtual programming as required.

Work Schedule: The position operates Monday through Friday, with hours varying between late afternoon and early evening during the academic year, and daytime hours during the summer program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up the learning environment, prepare lesson plans, and gather necessary materials for both in-person and virtual activities.
  • Design and facilitate engaging activities, focusing on arts and crafts, reading, character development, physical fitness, and nutrition.
  • Emphasize STEM/STEAM initiatives, including coding, robotics, and 3D printing.
  • Assist participants with homework and academic enrichment tasks.
  • Ensure the safety and supervision of all participants.
  • Foster an inclusive and respectful atmosphere that values diversity.
  • Maintain accurate records of program activities.
  • Keep the learning environment organized and clean.
  • Uphold a safe environment for all participants.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States and ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Basic computer skills, including navigating websites and using email platforms.
  • Willingness to learn and utilize online educational tools.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work requirements.
  • Capability to lead fitness activities and supervise sports.
  • Strong organizational skills and sound judgment.
  • Ability to engage with diverse age groups.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children, particularly in educational or support roles.
  • Relevant coursework in Education, Child Development, or related fields.
  • Knowledge in STEAM subjects, especially coding and robotics.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

Working Conditions:
Ability to work in various climates and environments, both indoors and outdoors. Potential exposure to bodily fluids may occur, with appropriate training and equipment provided.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods and engage in physical activities. Must be capable of lifting small children and participating in activities for prolonged durations.

Compensation:
$17.00 per hour.
