Position Overview:

The Retail Operations Leader is accountable for the comprehensive management of the store, aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction, achieving sales and profitability objectives, and overseeing team performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate strategic initiatives to broaden our customer base, boost store traffic, enhance market presence, and maximize profitability.
  • Achieve sales targets by mentoring and providing constructive feedback to the sales team.
  • Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction through outstanding service delivery.
  • Monitor and analyze inventory, labor, departmental, and overall store sales reports.
  • Supervise and verify cycle counts and pricing adjustments.
  • Review and authorize compliance documentation, ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards.
  • Manage opening and closing operations effectively.
  • Administer the Pro-Form, Spiff, and ExpertVoice incentive programs.
  • Coordinate store events, operational hours, and job opportunities on the company’s platform.
  • Oversee the sales training program, ensuring all staff receive necessary training biannually.
  • Supervise the merchandising of the entire store, ensuring cleanliness and organization at all times.
  • Collaborate closely with procurement staff to identify sales trends and customer preferences.
  • Train and develop Department Managers in their daily responsibilities, including recruitment, coaching, and management to identify training needs and establish career pathways.
  • Input and maintain Department Manager schedules in the timekeeping system and support payroll functions in the absence of the Office Manager.
  • Work alongside the Facility Manager to uphold the aesthetic and operational integrity of the store and grounds.
  • Address and resolve any issues raised by staff or customers, including complaints and grievances.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success in a retail management role.
  • Strong leadership abilities and business acumen.
  • Proficient in customer relationship management.
  • Excellent organizational capabilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in retail management, ideally within the outdoor sector.

Supervisory Role:

This position oversees the Department Managers within the store.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • This role is moderately active, primarily involving sitting, with occasional walking or standing.
  • While executing job duties, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, communicate, listen, utilize hands and fingers, and bend to retrieve items from the floor.
  • The employee may need to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this position include near vision acuity for computer work.
  • While performing job duties, the employee will experience a moderate noise level typical of a business office environment.

Travel Requirements:

This position may involve occasional travel.
