Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technician

Sigma Healthcare Team is seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technician to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and safety during interventional procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform special diagnostic radiographic procedures on designated parts of the body as required by physician orders.
  • Select proper exposure factors for radiographic equipment for each examination.
  • Determine appropriate equipment for use, i.e. pressure injectors, pressure monitor, mapping system, other imaging equipment.
  • Utilize protective shielding, immobilization and supportive devices when required.
  • Assume responsibility for care and safety of patients while they are undergoing interventional procedures in the labs.
  • Assist Radiologists/Cardiologists during special procedures and cardiac catheterizations.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and keep them informed regarding what they will experience during the procedure.
  • Participate in the instruction of AS and BS students rotating through department.
  • Prepare digital images for providers outside of the Eskenazi Health system.
  • Maintain supplies required for radiographic rooms, such as contrast media, pharmaceuticals, etc.
  • Keep rooms adequately stocked, and equipment clean; adhere to infectious control policies in maintaining a semi-sterile environment.
  • Prepare equipment to be sent to CSR for sterilizing procedures (i.e., wrapping, cleaning, labeling).
  • Prepare procedure trays for interventionists prior to all exams.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an AMA approved Radiologic Technology Program required; Bachelor's degree in Interventional Radiology.
  • Bachelor's degree, a minimum of one year previous working experience in interventional radiology or cardiac catheterization, or two years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist required.
  • AART registered.
  • Licensed with the State of MA as a Radiologic Technologist, ARRT IR registered.
  • Interventional Cath Lab experience required.
  • Current ACLS.
