Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Shipping Warehouse Worker to join our team at VP Racing Fuels. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and shipping processes.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments, verifying items against provided Work Orders.
  • Conduct accurate counts of received items to confirm correct quantities.
  • Identify suitable storage locations for incoming goods and manage space allocation within the warehouse.
  • Assist in the physical movement of items to designated storage areas while overseeing storage operations.
  • Review Work Orders to determine order picking tasks and execute them according to specified guidelines.
  • Utilize forklifts to retrieve pallets and transport them to designated checking areas.
  • Ensure the quality and quantity of picked items, facilitating their safe delivery to the designated pallet.
  • Support the loading of trucks (LTL) and strategize safe stacking methods for items.
  • Assist in unloading trucks (LTL) and implement safe retrieval practices for items.
  • Document any damaged or defective items and coordinate replacements in line with company policies.
  • Manage returns and exchanges, ensuring compliance with reverse distribution processes.
  • Verify that all incoming and outgoing shipments are correctly labeled and accompanied by the necessary documentation.
  • Cross-check the quantity and identification numbers of goods against orders.
  • Assemble wooden and cardboard containers or select pre-assembled options as needed.
  • Route products to appropriate departments for processing.
  • Attach identifying information and delivery instructions to containers.
  • Maintain organized records of shipped goods.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and procedural documentation.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with coworkers, departments, customers, and vendors.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematical operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Capability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages accurately.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with bartender software is a plus.
Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move throughout the facility.
Work Environment

May be exposed to typical warehouse elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, and oils.
