We are seeking a skilled Landscape Installation and Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the Arboretum and Gardens at Tanglewood Park. As a key member of our grounds team, you will be responsible for ensuring the beauty and integrity of our gardens and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with landscape installation and maintenance, including mowing lawns, trimming shrubs and trees, and removing leaves.
  • Remove snow and ice from county parking lots and sidewalks.
  • Maintain mowers and other small equipment and tools.
  • Perform related work as required.
Core Competencies:
  • Assist with outdoor activities such as landscaping, planting, fertilizing, and spraying lawns, shrubs, flowers, and trees.
  • Work with volunteers to maintain the gardens and grounds.
  • Interact with members of the public who visit the gardens.
  • Assist with projects and set up for events for all areas of the Arboretum.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from high school or GED and one year experience in basic building or grounds maintenance work.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally, and 10-25 lbs. frequently.
  • Ability to operate small equipment, including weed eater, blower, pruning shears, mowers, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and experience in horticulture, particularly with herbaceous and woody ornamentals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
