GENERAL FUNCTION
The Maintenance Supervisor directs and manages resources to execute both preventative and reactive maintenance on optical manufacturing equipment, maximizing equipment availability.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prioritizes individual safety by adhering to plant safety and environmental objectives, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
- Utilizes CMMS data, reports, and graphics to identify potential problem areas, enhance technician productivity, and support quality improvements that reduce breakage across the facility.
- Directs and manages resources to maintain current and accurate work order status, set priorities, and ensure efficient execution of tasks. Collaborates closely with Production Managers and Supervisors to routinely identify, update, and address priorities.
- Enhances equipment availability through root cause analysis methods and by empowering technicians to implement successful actions.
- Evaluates the technical capabilities of technicians to identify opportunities for growth and coordinates training, education, or proficiency scheduling to bridge skill gaps.
- Partners with planning to refine and update work procedures and time estimates for planned and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Responds effectively to off-shift and off-day maintenance priorities and technician issues.
- Monitors technician performance to achieve departmental, facility, or network KPIs, providing feedback, coaching, or corrective actions to drive performance.
- Supervises technicians to ensure accurate time and attendance reporting as well as labor documentation.
- Coordinates with inventory control to update minimum/maximum quantities, manage rebuilds, and identify surplus and obsolete parts.
- Conducts process audits as directed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or an Associate’s degree with relevant experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
- At least 3 years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic skills with a strong ability to read and interpret schematics, prints, and building plans.
- Knowledgeable in workplace safety, LOTO, SDS, PPE, and standard safe working practices.
- Experience with battery-powered lifts, conveyors, sorters, industrial box machinery, power distribution, industrial air systems, WMS, motor controls, PLC, conduit installation, and industrial wiring, including 480-volt systems.
- Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, lighting, fire protection systems, sewer pumps, refrigeration, construction, and building repair.
- Ability to alternate between sitting and standing for extended periods.
- Capability to bend or twist as required.
- Proficient in repetitive hand and wrist motions as necessary.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including days, afternoons, nights, and weekends.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional.
- Professional training/certification (e.g., arc flash, first aid, CPR, etc.).
- Experience as a Maintenance Supervisor, Team Lead, or Foreman.
