Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Training Program

Job Summary:

The Physician Assistant Fellow will participate in a comprehensive training program at Upstate University Hospital, working alongside Emergency Medicine Residents to develop advanced clinical skills and expertise.

Fellows will gain hands-on experience in treating patients in both adult and pediatric emergency rooms, as well as our minor care treatment area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in patient care and treatment under the supervision of experienced physicians and residents
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
  • Conduct medical procedures and exams, including hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care

Requirements:

  • NYS licensed/registered PA required
  • Must have NPI number and be Medicare Enrolled with Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) OR be eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire
  • Initial certification must be present or obtained within 6 months of hire
  • Experience with hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross

Benefits:
