Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Histology Technologist to join our team at Memorial Healthcare System. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a critical role in preparing histologic slides for microscopic examination and diagnosis by pathologists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare histologic slides from human tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis by pathologists.
  • Perform quality control, preventative maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of instruments and stains for optimal performance.
  • Prepare and evaluate stains, reagents, and solutions necessary for slide preparation following established policies and procedures.
  • Receive, access, and prepare tissues and other biological materials using accepted histological techniques.
  • May perform Immunohistochemistry and Histochemistry and assist with implementation.
Accountability and Quality

  • Ensuring accurate and timely preparation of histologic slides.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, adhering to laboratory safety protocols.

Requirements
  • Associate's degree in a life science or related field.
  • Clinical Lab Supervisor License (SU LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL), Clinical Lab Technologist License (TN LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL).
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures and instrumentation.
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory information systems.
  • Critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Work Environment
