About the Role

The Autism Society of Northern Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our organization in its mission to advocate for individuals with autism and their families. As the chief executive officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall strategy and direction of the organization, ensuring the effective implementation of our programs and services, and building strong relationships with stakeholders, including the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the organization's strategic plan, ensuring alignment with our mission and goals.
  • Program Development and Management: Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services, including fundraising, community outreach, and advocacy.
  • Staff Supervision and Development: Recruit, supervise, and evaluate staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties effectively.
  • Financial Management: Manage the organization's finances, including budgeting, financial reporting, and grant writing.
  • Community Engagement and Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and donors, ensuring the organization's visibility and reputation.
  • Board Governance: Work closely with the Board of Directors to ensure effective governance, including providing regular updates, recommendations, and advice.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record of leadership experience in a non-profit or related field.
  • Strategic Planning: Ability to develop and implement strategic plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Program Development: Experience in developing and managing programs and services, including fundraising and community outreach.
  • Financial Management: Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, financial reporting, and grant writing.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
