Job Title: Experienced Registered Nurse - Emergency Response

OU Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Response Team. As a critical care nurse, you will provide direct nursing care to patients in need of rapid evaluation and response due to deteriorating or crisis conditions.

Responsibilities:
  • Utilize the nursing process to delegate, coordinate, and provide safe, therapeutic nursing care to patients/families.
  • Make independent judgments/decisions and take action regarding a wide range of routine and complex patient issues, operating under guidelines of the Rapid Response Team.
  • Collaborate with appropriate disciplines to coordinate continuity of patient care from admission through discharge in support of the medical and nursing plans of care.
  • Act to support adult inpatient care needs within the facility, including the care of critically ill patients and transport from an inpatient unit to the ICU.
  • Respond as Code Blue Nurse, promoting effective team interactions, patient assessment, ACLS interventions, and complete/accurate documentation.
  • Conduct sepsis surveillance and work in collaboration with the medical and hospital staff to provide multidisciplinary care to the suspected or confirmed septic patient.
  • Monitor compliance with the sepsis screening process on all nursing units and facilitate compliance with the bundle elements and provide timely feedback to unit leaders.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years relevant critical care experience required. Preferred five (5) years of experience as a Critical Care Registered Nurse.
  • Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC). Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. ACLS (American Heart Association) required upon hire. Preferred CCRN Certification within 1 year.
