Job Summary

El Camino Health is seeking a skilled ED Technician to join our team. As a key member of our emergency department, you will provide direct and indirect care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical care for patients, including assessing their condition and developing care plans.
  • Rotate to oversee patients and families in the ED waiting area, providing assistance and support as needed.
  • Assist the triage RN in identifying medical necessity and supporting patients, families, and staff.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients, guests, and co-workers in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to speak in Spanish a plus.
  • Exceptional people skills and ability to function in a calm manner in stressful situations.
  • Ability to adapt, prioritize, and function in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
Qualifications
  • National Registered Paramedic - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians OR proof of current completion of 2 semesters in an accredited Registered Nursing Program.
  • CNA may be considered.
  • Basic Lifesaving Certification - American Heart Association.
Working Conditions

Medium Work - Requires standing the majority of the shift with the ability to lift up to 35 lbs. frequently. Work involves sitting, kneeling, climbing, and squatting.
