Development Director, Strategic Partnerships

Our client, a robust non-profit organization, is seeking a seasoned Development Director to enhance donor relationships and increase private funding. This individual will lead a team and develop internal and external relationships to foster donor involvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of Development staff, including the Associate Director and Database Manager, and collaborate closely with the Communications Team.
  • Qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors with five- and six-figure capacity, including multi-year commitments.
  • Plan and schedule donor visits to showcase program impact firsthand.
  • Develop and implement quarterly/semi-annual personalized letters to major donors and track phone follow-up and creation of authentic relationships with funders.
  • Create a list of corporate partner prospects and develop a 12-month outreach plan, including volunteer opportunities for engagement and requests for corporate event sponsorship and grants.
  • Research, develop, and implement a Planned Giving campaign.
  • Manage Junior Board engagement in partnership with the Associate Director of Development.
  • Organize events to increase network of relationships and fundraising.
  • Lead the preparation and implementation of the annual gala, including honoree/sponsor research, outreach, and projections.
  • In partnership with the SVP, manage relationships with the Board, Senior Staff, and Honorees, and direct and oversee the Associate Director and Database Manager on all event-related activities.
  • Provide monthly reports on portfolio activity and progress, and assist in projecting and tracking multi-year gift solicitations.
Qualifications:
  • 10 years' experience in development and fundraising.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising principles, strategies, and trends in the non-profit sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with high-level donors, including corporate partners.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) and progressive leadership experience and skills.
  • Able to build authentic relationships with partners, funders, supporters, and team members.
  • Must show strong team building and collaboration skills and talent/passion to take fundraising to the next level.
  • Ability to plan and launch new projects and processes.
Desired Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
