Data Center Project Manager

As a Data Center Project Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for designing, planning, and delivering AWS global infrastructure. This involves working on complex problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain.
Job Responsibilities
- Establish communication and coordination across data center regions, general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Develop and maintain tracking systems for design changes, RFIs, and change orders, as well as dashboards for regional leadership review, including tracking status and priority deadlines.
- Request and review Method of Procedure (MOP) documents for proper detail, necessity, and risk.
- Onboard new vendors for badging and orientation, update project management software with milestone dates, correspondence, and documents, monitor delivery of owner-furnished materials to site, compile and store construction data from vendors, and manage checklists including substantial completion checks, safety, and quality.

The AWS Infrastructure Services team owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We work on the most challenging problems, collaborating with diverse teams of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles to deliver high standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for customers.
Basic Qualifications
- A four-year degree in a technical field such as engineering, construction management, or a trade school, or 4+ years of related construction experience in lieu of a degree.
- +2 years of experience working in the construction industry or an engineering organization.
- Experience updating and managing construction data including milestone dates, requests for information (RFI), design changes, and change orders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with IT tools such as MS Office Suite including Project, Excel, and Word.
- Experience with project management software tools such as Procore and document control.
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar computer-aided design software.
- Experience in a mission-critical data center along with experience developing workflows and tracking systems including change management, vendor equipment delivery, and document controls across 3 or more organizations/teams.
