Refrigeration Technician Job Description

National Beef Packing Co., LLC is seeking a skilled Refrigeration Technician to join our Maintenance Team in Moultrie, Georgia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating, repairing, and maintaining industrial refrigeration equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate, repair, and maintain industrial refrigeration equipment and systems, including compressors, condensers, blast freezers, and ammonia pumps.
  • Perform periodic testing of ammonia detection systems and monitor and repair hot water heaters, water filters, and reservoirs.
  • Repair and maintain utility equipment, including steam, water, air, and standby equipment, as well as electrical control panels.
  • Maintain ongoing improvement and upkeep of all utility areas and perform preventative and corrective maintenance policies and procedures.
  • Participate in HAZMAT team assignments and assist in the Emergency Response Program.
Requirements:
  • Proven work history in industrial refrigeration in the beef/food industry preferred.
  • Strong knowledge in RCM dealing with PMs, PDMs, and specialty training related to RCM process.
  • Disciplined in areas related to industrial maintenance, including electrical, fabrication, fluid power, machining, mechanical, plumbing, welding, and construction.
  • Mechanical skills and understanding of basic machine functions.
  • Ability to use common tools, such as sockets, drills, and wrenches.
  • Computer and PLC skills.
  • Willingness to work and be on time when scheduled.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Strong work ethic and eye for detail.
  • Exemplary safety record (with previous employer).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • General knowledge of plant layout.
  • Valid Driver's License.
