Manufacturing Shift Lead

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Shift Lead to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Extrusion Shift in Dalton, GA.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing leadership and excellent communication skills. This role is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient yarn extrusion manufacturing operations, promoting a team environment, and continuously improving production methods while adhering to all safety procedures.
Responsibilities- Supervise and lead the yarn extrusion manufacturing functions across assigned shift, reviewing production orders or schedules to ensure timely completion and meeting delivery dates.
- Plan and review production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing yarn products.
- Resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to minimize costs and prevent delays.
- Schedule and assign work to meet yarn production requirements.
- Evaluate and develop training processes to ensure employees are properly trained.
- Coach and develop employees in problem-solving, scheduling, equipment problems, and training.
- Monitor and evaluate performance daily using Shop Floor Management Tools in WCM, taking ownership of shift and performance reporting management for Extrusion.
- Implement lean manufacturing methods to improve production processes, including quality, cost reduction, and reduced lead times for yarn processing.
- Lead initiatives for 5S implementation and process improvements on assigned shift.
- Collaborate with the safety committee by attending safety meetings, working on safety projects, supporting safety within departments, completing safety surveys, and performing safety training.
- Support employees in quality assurance, ensuring understanding and adherence to quality requirements and procedures within departments.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of extrusion manufacturing job-specific experience within the functional area.
- Proficiency in using a PC and other department-specific databases, systems, and hardware.
- Knowledge and skills required to perform troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and resolve basic operating problems.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of HR policies, practices, and procedures related to employee relations, hiring, terminations, benefits, and compensation plans.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with Senior Management and internal customers.
- A competitive salary range of $90,000-$110,000 per year.
