Job Summary
The RN, Progressive Care Neuro Specialist, will provide professional nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Neuro unit, utilizing the framework of the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge patients. The RN will work under the direction of the Nurse Leader, incorporating patient-family centered care principles to provide quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' physical and emotional needs, developing individualized plans of care to meet their unique needs.
- Implement and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills.
- Document patient care and outcomes in the electronic health record, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
- Specialty certification in Progressive Care Neuro or related field highly recommended.
Work Environment
The RN, Progressive Care Neuro Specialist, will work in the Progressive Care Neuro unit at Corewell Health's Dearborn Hospital, a Level II trauma center and a major teaching and research hospital.
