Compensation: $71.16 per hour, commensurate with experience
Position Summary:
Under the guidance of a supervising physician, the Physician Assistant delivers comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare services to patients within specialty care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collects patient medical histories and conducts assessments through observation, interviews, and examinations. Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic tests.
- Administers direct treatment and manages health conditions through prescriptive authority or referrals to other healthcare professionals or community resources.
- Educates and counsels patients and their families regarding preventive health measures, treatment alternatives, and available community resources.
- Provides care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including preoperative, intra-operative, and post-operative services, as well as critical care management.
In this role, critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to operate with minimal supervision are essential. The candidate must thrive in a dynamic environment and respond appropriately to various situations.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program.
- Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant.
- PREFERRED: Experience in ENT
- Unrestricted DEA license for prescribing medications commonly used in practice. Credentialing through Medical Staff Services is required.
- Eligibility to provide reimbursable Physician services and maintain provider status with Medicare and Medicaid, with no sanctions or exclusions from relevant federal programs.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, valid prior to start date.
