Position Summary

The Personal Care Assistant is responsible for delivering compassionate support to the residents within the Meadowlark community. This role encompasses assistance with daily living activities, meal preparation, companionship, and maintaining a clean living environment.

Key Responsibilities

Resident Support

  • Assist with daily living activities (ADLs)
  • Organize and engage in meaningful recreational activities
  • Facilitate prescribed exercises in accordance with care plans
  • Help with mobility, positioning, and transportation of residents
  • Support the use of assistive devices as needed
  • Prepare and serve meals, including breakfast and snacks

Health Monitoring

  • Record and monitor vital signs
  • Safely manage medications received from the pharmacy
  • Document care activities as per organizational guidelines
  • Collaborate with the care team to address residents' needs and progress
  • Observe and report any changes in residents' conditions to nursing staff
  • Ensure timely responses to residents' requests for assistance

Housekeeping Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the residence
  • Change bed linens and make beds
  • Launder clothing and linens
  • Assist with cleaning after meals

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Preferred: CPR certification
  • Ability to safely lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs.
