Neurology Physician Assistant Leader

The Department of Neurology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and UPMC is seeking an exceptional leader to join and help lead our world-class health system as the Division Chief for Epilepsy.
About the OpportunityThis is a unique opportunity to lead a team of 11 physicians and 3 APPs, with 4 fellows each year, and oversee the epilepsy department. The successful candidate will have the ability to obtain an unrestricted PA license and proven administrative capabilities in leading a department, division, or clinical group.
Responsibilities- Lead all divisional clinical operations, scheduling, and divisional QA activities
- Participate in departmental and Medical Staff committees
- Work with technical managers to resolve issues
- Recruit faculty and participate in the divisional and departmental budgetary planning
- Assist in the preparation of reports and maintain informative, up-to-date website information for the division
- Active participation in the annual performance evaluation process
- Lead or foster research from the General Comprehensive Neurology division
The Department of Neurology provides unparalleled educational experiences for medical students and residents, and has clinical fellowships in Epilepsy, Headache, Neuro-Oncology, Neuro-Critical Care, Women's Neurology, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, Neuro-endovascular, Clinical Neurophysiology, and Movement Disorders.
Research funding for clinical, basic, data science, and translational studies in the department has increased steadily, with over $13 million of total NIH grant support in FY22.
