New York Junior Tennis League, Inc. is a prominent organization dedicated to providing afterschool tennis and educational programs. We cater to over 100,000 young individuals aged 5-18 across New York City's diverse neighborhoods. Our afterschool initiatives are designed to create safe and supportive environments where children can excel academically and personally, both on and off the tennis court.
Role Summary
The Site Director will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our afterschool program at one of our multiple locations. This role requires effective management of staff and the delivery of engaging educational programming to youth. The Site Director will implement the organization's curriculum with a focus on quality and supervision of team members including an Assistant Site Director, Group Leaders, and Activity Specialists.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the delivery of a high-quality youth development program that aligns with the organization's mission and engages participants effectively.
- Meet enrollment targets and maintain high rates of participation.
- Train and support all staff in program operations and responsibilities.
- Ensure compliance with required staff-to-child ratios during all operational hours.
- Supervise staff and collaborate with educational specialists to develop and implement the program curriculum.
- Maintain compliance with state qualifications and training requirements for childcare licensing.
- Effectively manage program operations to achieve set goals and adhere to regulations.
- Foster relationships with school staff and community members to enhance program development and service delivery.
- Maintain accurate administrative records and files as per program requirements.
- Ensure the safety and upkeep of the facility.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Education, Physical Education, or a related field.
- At least two years of supervisory experience in youth program management and staff training.
- Availability during operational hours throughout the school year.
- Proven skills in program outreach, budgeting, and compliance with licensing procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to serve as a positive role model for youth and staff.
- Proficiency in various computer applications and a willingness to learn new technologies.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion.
