Job Summary

Naples Zoo Inc is seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented individual to join our Carnivore Department as a Wildlife Care Specialist. This full-time position will be responsible for the daily care, feeding, enrichment, and training of animals in the assigned areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness of animal habitats and assist with veterinary procedures.
  • Develop and implement training plans for animals in the assigned areas.
  • Keep accurate and detailed records of animal behavior, habitat maintenance, and training progress.
  • Interact with guests through scheduled keeper talks, Zoo Camp, and other educational programs.
  • Collaborate with other department keepers to achieve team goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Experience working with carnivores at an AZA-accredited facility is preferred.
  • Knowledge of animal husbandry related to carnivores and good observational skills of animal behavior are beneficial.
  • An Associate's degree in a Zoological science or a related Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Ability to work weekends, weekdays, and holidays.
