Job Summary:

The Veterinary Assistant will be responsible for assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians with medical procedures, taking vital signs, and providing administrative support. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with medical procedures, including restraint, triage, and sample collection.
  • Take vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
  • Provide administrative support, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Assist with laboratory tests, including blood draws and urinalyses.
  • Participate in continuing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest veterinary techniques and technologies.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a veterinary assistant or in a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Physical stamina to lift and move animals, as well as stand for long periods of time.
