Job Overview

The Security and Loss Prevention Specialist is responsible for providing armed protection and overseeing loss prevention measures across designated company properties. This role involves assisting in investigations as required by management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver armed security and loss prevention services at assigned sites.
  • Support asset protection training and conduct internal investigations.
  • Oversee safety and security systems and protocols.
  • Facilitate on-site training for newly appointed security personnel.
  • Manage staffing needs due to scheduling conflicts.
  • Handle the operation, upkeep, and response to security alarms and systems at non-retail sites.
  • Regulate vehicular and pedestrian access at non-retail locations.
  • Adhere to state and private security regulations and safety standards.
  • Assist with company vehicle operations as necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of warehouse communication systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to successfully complete a post-offer medical evaluation, including a medical background check, vision and hearing tests, and a physical agility assessment.
  • Capability to demonstrate safe firearm handling.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze information effectively.
  • Proficient in preparing reports and business correspondence.
  • Strong research skills to establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and processes.
  • Effective problem-solving and reasoning abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Willingness to travel to off-site locations as needed, including potential overnight stays.
  • Flexibility to work on-call and adapt to varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Compliance with the company’s driver policy.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Two or more years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Vocational or technical training is preferred.
  • A valid state driver’s license is mandatory.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Certification from the Texas Department of Public Safety Level III is required (for Texas locations).
  • Level IV certification from the Department of Public Safety is preferred.
  • Ability to pass a physical agility test related to job functions, including push-ups, sit-ups, running, and lifting requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • Must possess the ability to maintain close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
  • Regularly required to stand or walk.
  • Frequently required to communicate verbally and audibly.
  • Regularly required to use hands for various tasks.
  • Occasionally required to sit for extended periods.
  • May need to lift, push, pull, or maneuver objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Occasional bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, balancing, stooping, or crawling may be necessary.
