Why Work as a Special Needs Driver?
As a Special Needs Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting students with special needs to and from school. You will work with a team of professional drivers dedicated to getting students to and from school safely. You will enjoy the support of our industry-leading technology to guide you through your daily routes. You will prioritize vehicle maintenance by conducting pre and post-trip vehicle inspections. You will provide support to students by assisting with boarding and exiting the bus.
Qualifications
To be successful as a Special Needs Driver, you will need to have good verbal communication skills. You must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license for at least 3 years. You will be subject to a drug screen and physical. You will be subject to DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
Benefits
As a Special Needs Driver, you will enjoy a competitive starting wage of $35.26-$43.32 per hour, depending on experience. You will have immediate routes and summer work available. You will receive a $1,000 sign-on bonus for non-credentialed drivers and a $2,500 sign-on bonus for fully credentialed drivers. You will have medical, dental, and vision benefits, as well as a 401(k) retirement savings plan. You will have the opportunity to match year-for-year pay for school bus and transit driving experience. You will have training completion pay available upon request. You will have extended paid training during the summer after you get your license. You will have 9 paid holidays. You will have company-paid permit tests, permit costs, and license costs. You will have a weekly attendance bonus. You will have 40 hours of paid time off front-loaded from September to September. You will have extra work available, including trips and yard work. You will have an annual increase in pay.
