Research Scientist in Explosion Safety Innovations

Position Overview:
This role is centered on pioneering scientific research and innovative experimental methodologies aimed at evaluating explosion risks linked to emerging renewable energy technologies. Key focus areas encompass hydrogen safety, thermal runaway phenomena in lithium-ion batteries, and the dynamics of flames in gas and dust explosions. The primary goal is to establish a scientific basis for models and tools that address real-world challenges in industrial and commercial property safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct experimental and analytical studies with the potential for full-scale implementation at our research facilities.
- Collaborate with senior research personnel to produce publishable findings as part of a strategic research initiative.
- Engage in the development of innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in a relevant discipline such as mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, aerospace engineering, or applied physics.
- Strong foundational knowledge in combustion, gas dynamics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and applied mathematics.
- Proficient in experimental techniques, including optical diagnostics, and adept at formulating analytical models in thermal-fluid sciences, particularly in combustion research.
- Prior research experience in hydrogen safety, battery technologies, or premixed combustion is advantageous.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
Compensation and Benefits:
The final salary will be determined based on geographic location, education, skills, and experience.
