About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at MediLodge of Traverse City. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
  • Assess and document resident conditions, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments as prescribed by physicians, while maintaining accurate records and adhering to company, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Supervise and direct licensed practical nurses (LPNs), licensed vocational nurses (LVNs), and certified nursing assistants (CNAs), providing guidance and support to ensure excellent patient care.
  • Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Collaborate with physicians to perform special tests and procedures, ensuring compliance with state-specific Nursing Practice Acts.
  • Ensure efficient use of supplies and maintain equipment in a safe and clean manner, promoting a positive work environment.
  • Document pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents, contributing to a comprehensive understanding of their needs and preferences.
  • Coordinate nursing care for residents scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal outcomes.
  • Interview and recommend applicants for hire, participating in counseling, disciplinary action, and termination of staff as permitted by state practice acts.
  • Supervise the nursing unit, scheduling and directing nursing staff as needed, while maintaining a focus on patient-centered care.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
  • Valid RN license in the state employed.
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • One year of nursing experience preferred.
