Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant - Home Health Aide

Aveanna is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant - Home Health Aide to provide personal medical care and assistance with daily living activities to patients in their homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide basic first aid and take vital signs
  • Assist with catheter and bowel care, including I&O monitoring
  • Perform range of motion exercises and ambulation, transfer, and positioning with wheelchairs and other non-life support medical equipment and devices
  • Prepare meals according to dietary and nutritional needs
  • Care for patients with special conditions and needs within the scope of authorized tasks
  • Help patients maintain good personal hygiene
  • Thoroughly complete and coordinate all required documentation

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Current, unrestricted certification or proof of training as required by the state
  • Current CPR certification
  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with aide care and policies and procedures

Additional State-Specific Requirements:

  • Georgia: Successful completion of Nurse Aide training and competency evaluation program or Health Care or Personal Care credentialing program recognized and approved by the state
  • Illinois: Appropriate clearing of Illinois Department of Public Health Health Care Worker Registry or successful completion of Long-Term Care Assistants and Aides Training Programs Code
  • Colorado: Certification by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies within four months of starting employment and ongoing education of at least 12 hours of in-service training during each 12-month period

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English
  • Must be able to travel
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to sit and climb stairs
  • Must have visual and hearing acuity
  • Must have strong sense of smell and touch

Environment:

  • Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments that may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
  • Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases
