Job Summary:

In the City of Boca Raton, we are seeking a skilled Automotive Equipment Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Fire Rescue Services department, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of automotive equipment and specialized medium and heavy fire equipment and apparatus.

About the Job:

  • Maintain and repair automotive equipment, including vehicles, trucks, construction equipment, and maintenance equipment.
  • Repair and maintain specialized medium and heavy fire equipment and apparatus, including pumps, engines, and other critical systems.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance work on City vehicles following suggested manufacturer and City standards.
  • Diagnose and repair complex issues with vehicle systems and components, including electrical, hydraulic, and computer systems.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient and effective maintenance and repair operations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; two years of experience in repairing automotive power-driven and fire-related equipment preferred.
  • Certification in a minimum of three areas by the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (A.S.E.) as an Automobile Technician required.
  • Valid State of Florida Class "E" driver's license with no more than six points in a three-year period required.
