Job Title: Senior Android Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Developer to join our Application Engineering team at NTT DATA. As a Senior mobile engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality mobile applications on the Android platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain mobile applications for the Android platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
  • Participate in the entire application lifecycle, from concept to release.
  • Debug and resolve technical issues and bugs to ensure optimal application performance.
  • Perform unit testing to ensure the robustness, reliability, and performance of applications.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge with the team.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Android SDK Native mobile app development.
  • 5+ years of experience in Native Android development, including cross-platform frameworks such as iOS, Flutter, and React Native.
  • 5+ years of in-depth understanding of programming languages like Kotlin, Java, and Jetpack Compose.
  • 5+ years of experience building and maintaining Android libraries via Gradle/Maven.
  • 5+ years of working knowledge of Unit and Android Tests.
  • 5+ years of proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
  • 5+ years of experience with Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, and Android UI design principles.
  • 5+ years of experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, JSON, and integrating third-party libraries and APIs.
  • Ability to work onsite 3 days a week in Plano, TX.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
  • Solid understanding of mobile app design patterns like MVC, MVP, Delegation, Singleton, Factory, MVVM pattern, Clean Architecture, and Viper.
  • Strong experience collaborating with designers and UX experts to create great user experiences.
  • Working knowledge of Unit and Automated testing using Espresso UI Automation.
  • Familiarity with tools like Jenkins, Fastlane, and using version control tools like Git and Gitlab.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ability to learn quickly, and adapt to new technologies and challenges.
