Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Cardiac Step-Down Unit at Ascension St. Vincent's Birmingham. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients with cardiac conditions, including those who have undergone open heart surgery.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans, ensuring that each patient receives individualized attention and care.
  • Monitor and record patient condition, communicating effectively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines, ensuring well-coordinated patient care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders, ensuring that each patient receives timely and effective care.
  • Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs, working closely with the healthcare team to ensure a smooth transition to home or other care settings.
Requirements
  • Licensure / Certification / Registration:
    • BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date required.
    • Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
  • Education:
    • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or required professional licensure at time of hire.
